  7. XPD-II is a print management system that allows status, spooler, and queue
  8. management for all configured printers that will provide the following
  9. capabilities: allows two levels of print control, tty and user;
  10. menu-driven, print administration facilities including options to
  11. display/modify user/printer options; create and maintain printer parameters,
  12. add/delete print administrators; allows complete control of print output,
  13. letting you print at printers connected directly to serial (tty) ports, to a
  14. user's terminal (transparent or local printing), and to other terminals
  15. (dedicated printer stations); supports all applications that direct output
  16. to the system spooler; supports command-line call that allows a user to
  17. change print options; can be called directly by an application program,
  18. making printing totally transparent to the user; ability to obtain spooled
  19. background printing, which allows the user to print a file and continue
  20. processing independent of the printing of the file; and specify at any time
  21. before process output delivery completion that multiple copies of the output
  22. are to be produced. Print queue and print spooling features that include:
  23. 1. Access to all available printers. 2. Ability to direct desired print output
  24. to the queue. 3. Print spooling support. 4. Ability to delete print output from
  25. the queue.
